Unbelievable! 2 snows in 3 days!

Saturday morning we woke up to snow falling once again. I'm beginning to think Grandma Louise may have put in a special request with the big guy. Having this many snows in one season is unheard of, much less in only three days.

Going on a ride to see what is falling

At the store to pick up the necessities

Everyone else had the same idea. Milk and bread for everyone!

Snowy roads

Even Buddy was having a good time bouncing around

Our Camilla plant

Much more snow that a couple of days earlier, though the roads held up once again

Coops trying out his snow gloves

Catching snow flakes in his mouth

Buddy hugs!

Taking Sam for a walk

Playing on the back deck

Doughnuts anyone?

Trying to throw a snowball

SNOW!!

Suzy and I were absolutely GIDDY, this is the first snow in Marietta in at least 4 years

We hurried home to Danny and Coops so we could play in the white stuff

Isn't our house so pretty covered with snow?

Cooper's first snow, he couldn't believe what was coming out of the sky

Happy snow dance!

Suz was praying for school to be closed, unfortunately it did not stick to the road so Cobb county did not cancel school.

Coops did not want to go in, I think he would have stayed out all evening if we would have let him

Ahhh mom, can we go out in the snow again??

On the Square

Our wonderful neighbors Melissa and Chris took Danny out to eat for his 38th birthday last week. While we were up on the square the kids discovered a train in the playground and the fun ensued.

Three great things about today...

  1. Today is Danny's Birthday! He's 38. If you have a chance today, be sure and give him a call and sing Happy Birthday to him.
  2. Suzy got a B in Algebra. I got a text first thing this morning from her (first day back at school, they received their grades from last semester). I gotta tell you, I am super proud of her. It only goes to show you how far a little perseverance and alot of drive can go. I am now utterly convinced that little miss Suzy can do anything she sets her mind to. "Go0oo Suzy.... Goooo Suzy.... Go!"
  3. UGA is number 2 in the final AP poll! Another example of not giving up. I thought (and you know you did too) that our season was over after that loss to the Viles. Instead it was the start of an amazing come back. Guess I need to start saving money for those season tickets. I think 2008 may be the year of the Dawg.

Christmas Lights

Well, I got down all the Christmas lights today. It was bittersweet, I wish we could have them up all year long but then they wouldn't be as special at Christmastime. It was quite a chore and kept me busy for most of the afternoon. I've always heard you will have bad luck if you have your Christmas decorations up on New Years day, I'm not sure if this is true or just an old wives tale. Truth is, I'm not taking any chances. 2007 was a rough year in many ways, I want as much luck going into 2008 as possible!

Christmas 2007

We were good this year and on Christmas morning, Santa left some really great presents. Cooper got a firetruck, Suzy got an Ipod and producers tickets, Danny got Van Halen tickets and I got a treadmill.

Suzy trying out Cooper's firetruck

Can you see the chocolate around Coop's mouth. He was in heaven with all the "candy corn" Santa left him

Suzy got Danny a UGA watch and he got her beautiful blue topaz earrings

Cooper testing out the fireman equipment Grandma gave him

Last present, it was a popup firehouse
I hope everyone had as a wonderful and joyous Christmas as we did

Christmas Eve at the Farmers

The annual Christmas Eve oyster stew dinner was held for the first time at Brad's house this year. I thought it was going to be really strange with Grandma's funeral being only a few days before but we ended up having a wonderful time in Dalton. Shana and Brad were both wonderful hosts and Brad's pork roast and grilled mackerel was amazing. Danny locked his keys in the truck so added to the excitement of the evening. Throughout the dinner I felt Grandma looking down on us enjoying a tradition that has been carried on since her mother (my great grandmother) started it many years ago.

Bryce and Coops playing before dinner

Sara Kate can't wait to open presents

Suzy showing off her artistic skills to us all. Though no one could quite draw Holly right.

Dad making his famous sauce
Oh my goodness, the kids were excited

Fried oysters anyone?

Dad and Mom

Opening gifts, isn't Suzy's hat the best?

Dad, Mom and the grandchildren

The Farmers and a few McEvers thrown in.
After dinner, we opened gifts. I am still not .sure what Brad liked more, the Wii or the ceramic worm I got him. Ok seriously, his eyes were like saucers when he saw the Wii. Mom was quite sneaky this year and surprised me with a Garmin Navigator. She had been calling me the last few weeks under the guise of getting one for herself. When we were opening gifts, at first I thought I had opened hers by mistake and started trying to rewrap it. She finally let on that it was for me. Very sly mom! I love my Garmin, Suzy and I have been having a ball playing with it.

Santapooloza 2007

This year we were lucky enough to have Santa to visit us for Cooper's 2nd Birthday party, that combined with Suzy's annual Christmas party made for one heck of a party.

Santa arriving, Cooper is not sure what to think of it all

Suzy and her festive friends...Lauren, Elise and John

Emma passing the Christmas Grapefruit to Dan

Emma was not having any luck giving the grapefruit away

s Santa reading "The Night Before Christmas" to all the kids, Carter was really enjoying the bounty of candy canes.

Danny with the spread of goodies

Bryce, Sara Kate & Cooper testing out his table Grandma Sheryl and Papa Farmer gave him

Cooper just wasn't too comfortable around Santa

Sara Kate could not wait to sit in Santa's lap

Bryce telling Santa about the doggie he hoped to get. Cute story about the reindeer Santa is holding, as soon as Santa came in and sat down, Cooper ran in the other room and grabbed the reindeer to give to Santa. He knew that Santa was supposed to have reindeer

Suzy and Coops playing horsey

Goofballs!!

Amy Bullard and Mitchell were able to make it to the party

And.. Janet and Spencer

Santa wishing everyone a very merry Christmas
