Marietta Mardi Gras 5K
Ran my first race of the season this past weekend. I'm not nearly the awesome runner I used to be, but this stuff is cyclic with me, it comes and goes with the seasons. Motivation has not been my friend since the Ironman either as I find it really hard to lace up the shoes and even go on short distance runs.
Fortunately my friend Heather is a great motivator and a new runner, so we can ease into the running gig once again. The race was very fun and despite a few select hills, we kicked major butt. Mainly though, I was super proud of Heather for doing not only her first 5K but electing to dress silly while we did it. My philosophy being, if you aren't going to win then have fun doing it!

It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas
Christmas has come way too quickly this year. I can not believe it is less than two weeks away. This year, carols have played an important part of getting me in the festive spirit, whether it's Cooper singing at Faith Lutheran or something I run across on the radio.
My two favorite songs for Christmas are
Bring a Torch Jeanette Isabella
and
It's the most wonderful time of the year
Cooper performed at his school and it was enough to make any heart melt. My favorite song he sings now is the Hallelujah Chorus. He's sings it as "Alleluia-loo-loo".

A Cat's tale
Our kitty recently broke his tail in two places. Believe it or not, they don't have casts for cat tails! We ended up having to amputate is tail and having a very unhappy kitty cat

Blue Jean
It's the end of an era in Beverly Hills. Our neighbor Jean who has lived on the street for 40 years is moving to Texas this week. It happened pretty suddenly, but we were able to throw together a good-bye dinner at the house last night. Everything turned out Perfect.
We are going to miss you Ms. Jean.....

Trip to Western NC
We went on a road trip last weekend to the mountains of North Carolina. Suzy was accepted into Brevard and wanted to check out the area. I had forgotten how beautiful it was up there. I really miss it!
The infamous white squirrel
We had an amazing dinner in Asheville ( Blackened crab Quesidillia...need I say more?)

Pink Pig Revisited
Second time is the charm and we finally were able to get to Lenox square early and secure our position to get on the Pink Pig. It was an interesting ride, and I'm glad we did it. Although I don't really think it is anything you should go out of your way to do, unless you are a tradition junkie.
