Bryce's 4th Birthday

We went to Bryce's birthday party today and all had a great time. Somehow, Brad won all of the obstacle course races. Bryce got many cool gifts and everyone had a great time.

Habitat for Humidity 5K

The first race is in the history books. It wasn't as much hot as it was humid. I was absolutely soaked by the end of the race. Greased Lightening did her thing. She even thought it was a little too easy. I, on the other hand, was more than glad to see the finish line after pushing 40lbs of baby and jogger the 3.1 miles.

Oh deer

Suzy called me on the way to school this morning, she had a face to face introduction with our neighborhood deer.
She said she was walking in front of the house, that had the pumpkins growing outside last year, and wondered why their dog was barking like mad.
All of the sudden the deer bounded across the street in front of her. She said it nearly scared her to death.
raccoons, opossums, deer, what next?
I can handle anything but snakes!

Whadda week

Sorry that I have not been posting too much this week. We have been pretty darn busy all week long, in fact I'm finding it hard to believe it's already Thursday. Here are some highlights:

* Fence= Secured. Danny finally got the fence guy back out to show him what a crappy job his company had done. They ran a wire along the bottom of the fence and then secured it down with landscape pins. I'm not exactly sure how long this will hold Mr. Buddy, but the fence is much tighter now. This weekend, our project is to run the electrical fence along the bottom since this is how Houdini likes to escape.

*Computing at Record speeds again. I got a member of the Web Geeks to come out and do some diagnostic work on our home computer. He found 283 instances of spyware, and two downloader viruses. He also got our pdf reader to finally work and fixed Suzy's Ipod. It was a pretty bizarre experience as he came to do the door with his badge out and introduced himself as Agent Eric so and so. I fully expected him to turn on a siren on his little VW beetle as he sped away to help another damsel in distress.

*No solids for Suzy. Susu had another horrible experience at the Orthodontist today. They completely pulled the wire off of her bottom teeth and replaced it with a smaller one. Cooper and I walked back to see her at one point and she looked like a robot with wires sticking out everywhere. The good part is, one day soon she is going to have a killer smile. As for now, I guess we'll be heading to the smoothie place for supper tonight.

*Cooper's rash. Cooper seems to be healing up after his bout with a really bad rash this weekend. He seems to be in better spirits. In fact, he had 2 ladies in the waiting room of the Orthodontist's office completely charmed by the time we left.

*Race this weekend. Suz and I have been running everynight in preparation for her first 5K this weekend. I think she is going to do very well. I'll be huffing and puffing along with the baby jogger but I have no doubt I'll make it. We are really looking forward to the pasta we get to eat on Friday night to load up on our carbs

Congratulations MOM

I just wanted to congratulate Mom on the end of her Radiation treatments.

Way to Go!!!

From here on out, she will just have to go in for rechecks every few months. Thank goodness the worst of it is over, not that I was ever worried. You are one amazing woman.

Aunt Jessica Rocks

Suzy hung out with Aunt Jessica this weekend.
They shopped, ate bad food, and watched movies.
Suzy had a great time.

She got 4 new shirts from Abercrombie and shopped to her heart's delight

Cooper was very happy to see his auntie and Ben, when they dropped Suz off this evening.

Happy 8 months Cooper

Cooper is 8 months old today!

Pics from Jim & Sabrina's visit to Big Canoe

Big boy

Cooper and I were playing in the sun room floor this afternoon and he showed me what a big boy he has become.

He got up in sitting position form lying down on his stomach.

It's only a matter of days until our boy is crawling!

Cooper's first fire drill

I walked in to an unreal scene yesterday in Cooper's room.
All the babies were asleep.
I soon out found out why everyone was sacked out.
They had their first false alarm
In the middle of a torrential rainstorm

Kim (the head teacher) said they had to gather all the little guys up into one crib and roll them outside. I bet that was quite a site
Then they stood out in the pouring rain for 15 minutes with a blanket over the babies.
Boy, the teachers sure earned their salary yesterday!

Visit to Lisa's

We went to visit Lisa for a little while today. She and David have a great place. It's so convenient to everything. You can literally walk from her house to a couple of very nice strip malls. They have it decorated just perfectly and the backyard is so huge.

It was good to see Lisa. I miss that we don't get to see each other as much anymore.

Orientation night

Suzy and I went to her orientation last night. It was crazy because both the high school and middle school were having their orientations at the same time, so we had cars parked all the way up the street to our house. One great thing about where we live, We walked over!

Suzy's schedule is messed up (of course). We went in today to try to fix it but they said nothing would be completed until Monday. Suzy signed up for Orchestra, Key Club, and the Cross Country team. yes, I said Cross Country!!! I am so proud of her.

As of now, here is her schedule:

1st period--Missing
2nd period --Geometry
3rd period -- Orchestra / webpage design
4th period --Honors World History

Buddy vs. The Vet

We took old Buddy boy to the vet yesterday for shots and his annual check up. He enjoyed the trip so much, it's been awhile since he's been on a joyride.

The good news is that he is healthy as a horse. His ears are still bothering him so the doctor gave him some antibiotics and ear drops. Everybody at the office still remembered him from the last time he boarded. I've yet to discover what he did but he sure did make a name for himself.

It's sort of the funny, the vet's office we go to is in Acworth on Toccoa drive right off of New McEver road. It just seemed like a perfect fit for us

Don't fence me in

It's official: We have fence!
The workers got here about 9 this morning and finished around 4pm. The front facing the road is a privacy fence (we hope maybe this will deter Buddy from barking up everyone walking by.) The rest of the fence is black chain-link.
I don't want to brag, but it looks really nice. You can hardly even see it from the road. Danny has to secure some lattice under the sun room tomorrow and then Buddy's new home will be ready.
I know Buddy can't wait.

Post about Posts

As Suzy is pointing out in the picture...We have Posts for our fence. Fence guy showed up yesterday with a crew and knocked it out. Tomorrow they are supposed to put up the chain link and Friday, the gates will be finished.

Here's hoping with fingers crossed, that the fence will be finished by the weekend and Buddy will be able to romp around in his new playground.

Sorry the posts have been few and far between but it's been a bit hetic the past few days

UNFREAKINGBELIVABLE

After promising 3 times yesterday, guess who didn't show?

The fence guy!

I called his office, and wouldn't you know it....He's off. I'm beginning to feel a bit shafted. I expect this from Lawyers and Car Salesman not a regular joe just trying to make a living.

I've left 2 messages on his cell phone and he's about -><- this close from being fired. UGH! Why don't people do what they say they are going to do.

Buddy is a very sad puppy

South Beach update

I've dropped 15lbs
Danny has lost 20lbs
and Suzy is melting away!

It's PLASMATIC!

We finally received our Plasma HDTV last night. (note: TV is much larger than picture) Danny was all excited to get it. We wrestled with it through the door and realized one thing, the freaking screen is huge. Our original plans were to have Best Buy install it above our fireplace but now we are wondering if that might be too tight of a fit. We may have to do some serious rearranging in our house due to the new accessory. I thought perhaps we may put it on the wall in the formal living room but then we are going to lose the coziness of the fireplace in the den. There is absolutely no where to put it in the sun room so that's out. Any suggestions would be great as we have 2 weeks until comcast comes out to install our HDTV service.

That's another thing, was everyone (like us) under the impression that you just flipped a switch and had an incredible picture? We flipped on the set expecting to see the same definition you find in the showroom only to be a little disappointed. It's a great picture, but not the same. It seems we have to have a HDTV box installed to get the crisp picture we were used to seeing, of course no one mentioned this. As long as it's in by football season it's no big deal. Plus, it gives us a chance to do a little rearranging.Danny slept downstairs last night with his new little toy. It was very cute.

Tentative Race Schedule

Here are a list of races Suz and I are hoping to do in the next couple of months.

Saturday, August 26--- Habitat for Humidity 5K Road Race
Mt Bethel Church

Monday, September 4--Share the Road Challenge-
20 mile bike ride

Saturday, September 9--- Triathalon at Hilton Head- Sprint
Hilton Head

Sunday, October 1---- Either the Cohutta Sprint Triathalon or the Sweetwater Biathlon
*it's going to depend on how well the HH tri goes*

Now, get out your cowbells and airhorns. We need all the jockstrapping you can muster.

Interesting sites at our house

Buddy and I saw an opossum out tonight when we were running. He was quite a cute little fellow but he moved frightfully slow. I suppose that must be one of the reasons that you see so many smooshed ones on the road. Amazingly, Buddy wasn't really interested at all. So we went our separate ways. That is one thing I love about our neighborhood, all the interesting wildlife ( Tom not included) that inhabits Beverly Hills.

Billing is finished! I really put in a real push today to go ahead and get it out of the way.

Cooper is slowly getting back to his old self with one new trick. He's been getting sleepy right around 8 PM. Last night he slept through the night. I'm hoping for a repeat performance tonight.

Danny is still coughing but improving too. The bloodwork came back normal, he just has a big thyroid. I guess there could be worse things!

Fence Man was a no show again. He did email and say there was a problem with the fence they ordered. I'll call tomorrow and get the status. Bud is getting antsy for his new fence.

The lady across the street introduced me to her 16 year old Grandson. Boy, Suzy picked the wrong week to skip out of town. He's very handsome and he plays Tennis. Wayne is also home from Iraq and has been in/out next door.
